Birdies for a Better Future: K2 Claims Services Supports Lucky Duck’s Mission
On Monday, May 19th, at the La Jolla Country Club, the sun rose over rolling fairways and sparkling ocean breezes. By 11 AM, teams in bright polos and visors were lining up at the first tee, eager to blend a friendly round of golf with a powerful mission: supporting the Lucky Duck Foundation’s work to prevent and alleviate homelessness in San Diego County.
As the shotgun start commenced across the course, more than a hundred groups—including local businesses, community leaders, and nonprofit champions—set out on the 18-hole journey. Between drives and putts, players shared their own stories of service and community, forging connections that extended well beyond the leaderboard.

Our senior team—equipped with custom K2 caps—navigated challenging bunkers and slick greens, all while raising awareness for housing, job training, youth support, and outreach initiatives backed by Lucky Duck. Every swing helped fund programs that give individuals a real chance at stable housing and brighter futures.
Founded in 2017 by passionate San Diegans, the Lucky Duck Foundation has evolved into a leading force in the fight against homelessness. Through bridge shelters, community care kits, transportation assistance, and innovative partnerships, the foundation meets people where they are and guides them toward lasting stability. The Spring Swing’s proceeds power these initiatives all year long.
Birdies and bogeys aside, the true winners of Spring Swing are the hundreds who gain safe shelter, skills training, and hope. Networking lunch tables buzzed with stories of transformation, while on-course contests raised extra support for youth programs. By day’s end, players hadn’t just shared drives—they’d shared a vision of a San Diego where everyone has a place to call home.
As the final putt dropped, participants made plans to carry the spirit of Spring Swing into the rest of the year, whether by joining the Showcase Soirée this fall or volunteering through Lucky Duck’s “Be a Friend” mentor program. For K2 Claims Services, this event isn’t just one day on the calendar; it’s part of our ongoing commitment to serve the communities we insure and the lives we touch.
